Happy Sabbath, Church Family.

There is a profound, holy tension that exists in the space between the cross and the empty tomb. The air in Jerusalem on that first Sabbath following the crucifixion must have been remarkably still. For the disciples, the world had suddenly grown quiet. A silence that felt final, like the closing of a heavy book. They sat together in the long shadows of Friday’s grief, perhaps retracing every word Jesus had spoken and every miracle they had witnessed, wondering if the story they had been part of was truly over.

To them, the silence felt like an ending. But in the heart of that sacred rest, God was preparing a sunrise that would change the fabric of history forever. That quiet day wasn't a period at the end of a sentence; it was the breath God took before speaking life back into the world.

We often find ourselves in those quiet seasons of life, those moments where we are waiting for a breakthrough or wondering if God is still at work when we cannot hear His voice. Easter reminds us that God’s greatest moves often happen when the world is most still. The resurrection is the definitive proof that His light always has the final word. Because Jesus stepped out of that garden tomb, every ending we face is now merely the seedbed for a new beginning. He didn't just conquer the grave; He transformed the very way we experience our own stories, turning our deepest shadows into the dawn of His grace.

This isn’t just a beautiful memory we should revisit once a year; it is a living reality that breathes hope into your home this very morning. You are held by a Creator who specializes in making all things new. As 1 Peter 1:3 tells us, "In his great mercy he has given us new birth into a living hope through the resurrection of Jesus Christ from the dead." This "living hope" isn't a fragile wish that might blow away in a storm; it is a robust, joyful anchor for the soul. It allows us to truly rest this Sabbath, because we belong to the One who has already won the victory for us.

When this story becomes our story, it changes the way we walk through our neighbourhoods and speak to our families. We no longer have to live out of a place of striving or uncertainty; we can live with the quiet confidence of people who know the heart of the Father.

The empty tomb is an invitation to step out of the dark and into the warmth of His presence. This week, I encourage you to live as a reflection of that morning light. Share a word of steady encouragement, offer a hand of kindness, and live with the joy of someone who knows the victory is already won. As you rest today, may the peace of the Risen Lord fill your heart, and may you find strength in the wonderful truth that He is risen indeed.

Wishing you a Sabbath filled with the light and life of our Savior.

Blessings, Malin Andersen
