I hope you are all doing well, you had a blessed week and are looking forward to Sabbath.

Somewhere in your house there may be an album, or a few of them, full of physical photos probably taken by you. Some of those photos are uniformly bad, some are out of focus, some are blurred, and some have only peoples legs showing. But if you are like me, you enjoy leafing through the albums reminiscing about the old days. The pictures bring back memories, usually happy and precious memories of moments in time worth capturing.

In the 1980s, during a time when photography was undergoing a major transition and film cameras were becoming more affordable and accessible, Kodak (remember them?) saw the opportunity to market its products and the slogans, its a Kodak moment and Kodak moments: the memories you can keep forever, were born. If you remember their advertisements and commercials, you will remember that they used heart-warming scenarios to show the value of capturing those special memories with friends and family coming together to celebrate lifes special moments. Kodak highlighted the importance of capturing and preserving those memories for years to come and relive those special moments which make life so meaningful.

So, what are those Kodak moments in your life? What are those moments you want to capture and keep forever? For most of us, these moments include births, first days of school, last days of school, graduations, school awards nights, sporting events, weddings, birthdays, family gatherings, family vacations and so on. All these are precious moments that we like to capture and preserve. And luckily for us, in our day and age, thanks to our smart phones, we can capture any moment multiple times and from multiple angles. But did you know that the life of the church has those Kodak moments as well? Children dedications, Communions, Baptisms, professions of faith, guest speakers, social nights and special programs are all precious moments in the life of a church family. How about those times our children participate in church? I have been through my parents albums and theres plenty of photos of me at church. They captured my dedication as a baby, when I sang in the childrens choir, the times I was involved in Christmas and Easter skits, the first time I preached, the time I played the piano for the church service, the day I got baptised and many more special moments. There is nothing more special than seeing our children participate in and enjoying church. Our children are our greatest mission field.

This Sabbath, we are going to have one of these kodak moments at church. Our Adventurers will be taking our worship service and Im looking forward to what they have install for us all. Hope you can all join us for this special program.
