I hope you had a blessed week and are doing well. I hope that this weekend will be a blessing to you all as well.

It is said that a young boy once visited a beautiful cathedral with his father. As they entered, the boy's eyes were immediately drawn to a stunning stained glass window depicting Jesus being lifted up on the cross. The colours danced and shimmered in the sunlight, illuminating the entire room.

The boy turned to his father and asked, "Why is Jesus being lifted up like that?" His father explained that Jesus was lifted up on the cross to pay the ultimate price for our sins, so that we may have eternal life. The boy was struck by the sacrifice Jesus made for him and resolved to lift Jesus up in his own life.

In John 12:32, Jesus tells us, "And I, when I am lifted up from the earth, will draw all people to myself." Just as the stained-glass window drew the boy's attention and filled him with wonder, when we lift Jesus up in our lives, we become a beacon of light to those around us.

Practically speaking, lifting Jesus up means putting Him first in our thoughts, words, and actions. It means seeking His guidance in all circumstances and surrendering our will to His. When we lift Jesus up in our lives, we not only draw closer to Him but we also become a light in the darkness, leading others to Him.

Imagine yourself as a torchbearer, walking through a dark forest with the light of Jesus shining brightly. As you lift Jesus up in your life, you light the way for others to find their way to Him.

So, from this moment onwards let us be intentional about lifting Jesus up in all that we do. Let us pray for His wisdom, speak His truth, and love others as He has loved us. As we do so, we will not only draw closer to Him but we will also draw others to the life-changing love of Jesus Christ.

Blessings to you all as we continue to lift Jesus up together.

I look forward to fellowship with you all this Sabbath. Remember that we have combined church lunch. So please bring food to share with one another.

In Christ,  David Peñate
